Starbase Bravo

Look Upwards

Don’t look back. Let’s build something new.

Mission Description

May & June 2402

The Vaadwaur invasion of the Alpha and Beta Quadrants has been repelled. These acts of Starfleet courage have ended the subspace blackouts too. Left behind in the wake of the Vaadwaur Supremacy’s occupying forces, several worlds across the Federation have had their infrastructures leveled and cultural touchstones wiped out. Even Starbase Bravo couldn’t manage to escape the Nightfall untouched.

With Starbase Bravo’s repairs nearing own completion, the crew has returned their attention to coordinating logistics for the sector.  Operational objectives include:

– Routing cargo supplies, trade, and humanitarian aid to the Federation worlds in greatest need

– Starship towing, repair and resupply for the Starfleet and Federation vessels that were damaged or stranded in the sector

– Transitioning the most critically injured patients from Starbase Bravo to Starfleet Medical’s long-term care facility on Mellstoxx III

– Utilising intelligence and security to ensure cargo reaches its intended destination without being waylaid by opportunistic criminals

As important as it is to repair what the Vaadwaur have damaged, it’s the duty of every Starfleet officer to look to the future.  Being shaken by what the Vaadwaur almost took from the Federation can serve as a reminder to focus on building something new, something stronger.

Starbase Bravo In Play

As much as this mission is about reflecting on what Starfleet almost lost as a result of the Vaadwaur invasion, it’s also about building something new.  Consider writing about:

– Forming new friendships between characters who have never met

– Engaging in workplace networking to further your character’s career

– Starting a new science project using the SBB Artifact Tables

– Begining a research and development project

– Taking a new class through Starfleet Training Command

Collaborative Writing Roulette

To facilitate the formation of new friendships, the Starbase Bravo Staff would like to offer Collaborative Writing Roulette.

For every member who chooses to sign up, you will be assigned a writing assignment for each week of this mission.  You will be paired with another member at random and offered a one-sentence writing prompt that you can use as much or as little as you like.  The goal is to write with a fellow member you’ve never written with before to discover where you have commonalities, where you differ, and if you can form a new friendship (or even a new rivalry).

While members will receive new pairings and prompts weekly while this mission is open, they will not be required to finish writing each Story within a week.  Your Stories can be posted any time while the current mission is open.

Broken Bones

Starbase Bravo: Look Upwards

Doctor N’Vea consulted her chat in the busy ward of the secondary medical bay. Since the Vaadwaur attacks, they had been pushed to capacity as both injured from Starbase Bravo and ships around the sector had been streaming in. She had been relatively unscathed during the events, but others [...]

Starbase Bravo: Look Upwards

(Last Time, on Star Trek – Bravo: [https://bravofleet.com/story/157607/]) Mutiny was the most serious charge filed against Michael at that moment, as fallacious as it was. Between the two of them, both men felt they had sufficient testimony to have the charge fully dismissed without even [...]

[Prologue] The Inquiry: (PART 1)

Starbase Bravo: Look Upwards

The room was barren, an eight-by-eight box with nothing but a small table and a chair on each adjoining side, which were melded into the floor. Everything was made with the same polycarbonate substance, one would mistake it for being expertly carved from a single piece. Other than the door behind [...]
